The work placement is a period of training with companies or professionals for students and trainees on a course of study, or for new graduates within 12 months of graduation.  It can be an optional or a mandatory part of the Degree course.  The maximum duration is 12 months for students and 6 months for graduates; the latter must begin the work placement within 12 months of graduation.
The work placement involves three parties: the trainee,  the promoter (school/university), and the host (the company or organisation).  A university tutor or professor and a company tutor (not necessarily the legal representative) are also involved and follow and guide the trainee in fulfilling out his/her responsibilities.
The work placement becomes an exchange of mutual knowledge, and often the trainee is subsequently taken on by the company.
